Ellen Wineberg Prepares for 2008 Show

Isn’t it wonderful when we get to follow our passion? Here’s Ellen preparing for the opening of a show for June 2008. She writes:

I ‘m having a show next June of this work in an alternative gallery space in Newton, MA. It’s a comment on art criticism and artspeak. Large and small oil paintings that show old stuffed animals surrounded by quotes from art criticism such as “When artists use words in their work it smacks of defeat.”

Diana McBrier Wolfe writes:

I am living with my husband, Wesley Wolfe,in Mexico City and summering in Erie, Pennsylvania on the Lake. In a week’s time, I will be the proud Abuela of five grandchildren. Our life together consists of visiting lots of children, his and mine, enjoying new and lifelong friends, experiencing new places, and “giving back to this planet the best we can”.

This is the “latest” of our three kids (ie it was taken last Spring- they haven’t all been in the same place at one time since!): Kate (Senior at Denison and worried about life after college); Andrew (Sophomore at The New School in NYC and loving every minute) and Ben (working in real estate development here in Westchester County). We’ve given up our cottage on the lake and moved to a MODERN house with lots of open space. It is a real relief to have enough room to stretch. It also has a huge studio space for my kilns and glass work. So, I am happy. Also, we got a new dog, Nelly, who is tormenting our old cocker, Bear. So, life continues.
